The T7481 is a 24 VDC Monitored Guarded Output Module designed for safety-critical output applications. It provides 16 guarded outputs (in two groups of eight) with built-in line monitoring for open and short circuits. The module features a dual-redundant design ensuring that no single fault within the module can inadvertently apply power to an output. It is hot-replaceable and supports fail-safe (single module) or fault-tolerant (dual module parallel) configurations. The module is TÜV certified to Risk Class 5.

If the load is smaller than specified, the off-state leakage current may prevent the load from turning off completely.

Q:Can I use a single T7481 for safety-critical applications?
A:Yes. A single module provides fail-safe operation – any single failure will cause the output to turn off (de-energize to trip).

Q:How do I achieve fault tolerance?
A:Connect two T7481 modules in parallel and configure them for Dual Mode in the I/O configuration editor. This allows one module to be removed/replaced without interrupting load control.

Q:What happens if field power is not connected?
A:All outputs in the affected group will indicate a load/fuse fault because the output circuit testing monitors current flow.
