• Q1: What is the width of the AO 8 01 module?

A: The AO 8 01 occupies 4 SU (spacing units) in the F60 rack. Total rack width is 40 SU, with 24 SU available for user I/O modules.

• Q2: Can I insert or remove the AO 8 01 module while the system is powered?

A: No. Modules may not be removed or inserted during operation. The PES must be switched off before changing module assembly.

• Q3: What happens if an analog output channel fails?

A: The defective channel is switched off and goes to a safe, de-energized (power-free) state. The fault is indicated via the "ERR" LED, and the operating system passes safe "0" values to the application program. The remaining channels continue to operate normally.

• Q4: How are faults diagnosed on the AO 8 01?

A: Connect a programming unit (PADT) running ELOP II Factory to the controller. Use the Diagnosis window (Online → Diagnosis) to view error codes and sources. The "ERR" LED on the module front plate also indicates a fault.
